The 2018 Education Summit was held on March 18th at the downtown Marriott in Greensboro. More than 400 community members attended.

The 2018 Spark Awards were given to:

  • The Food Project: Weaver Foundation and community partners
  • Heads Up for Youth: Heads Up Barber and Beauty
  • Hunter Parents as Partners: Ruth Esquilin, Melody Kerr and Lakisha Tatum
  • Community-wide Supply Drive: Nexsen Pruet, PLLC

Dr. Sharon Contreras, GCS superintendent, and Charles C. Cornelio, chair of the GEA board of directors, spoke.

The 2018 Margaret B. Arbuckle Award went to James F. “Jim” Morgan.
